1. download and install 7-zip (a free tool from 7-zip.org)
2. select the file sc-skyru.rar
right-mouse-button and select 7-Zip
select Extract Here
3. select the file rld-skyru9.rar
right-mouse-button and select 7-Zip
select Extract to “rld-skyru9\”
4. copy the content of the folder “rld-skyru9″ to your skyrim main folder(“The Elder Scrolls v Skyrim”) and overwrite
5. play

After updating, I launched skyrim. It soon stopped responding with just a blank black screen, then crashed to desktop with no error messages or anything.
